Description
| The Claremont School was created by Evelyn Reiss, B.Sc., M.A., OCT, Fellow of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators to serve all students with dyslexia. It is the first school of its kind in Ontario and holds true to the vision of Dr. Samuel Torrey Orton and his colleagues who believed in the potential of individuals with dyslexia. Claremont School's mission is to empower dyslexic students and prepare them for success in the mainstream once strong foundational knowledge is acquired. The holistic approach to teaching individuals with dyslexia focuses on building confidence, knowledge, technological skill and tranquility of spirit. The Claremont School understands the emotional, academic and social needs of the dyslexic student and uses a curriculum created specifically for this community of pupils. The School is a member of the Ontario Federation of Independent Schools (OFIS).
